Four-week Courses

Introduction to Screenwriting

A four-week, fortnightly course in which we look at:

​

• generating ideas

• story structure

• creating compelling characters

• dialogue

• writing visually

• script formatting​​

Screenwriting: A Deeper Dive

​

A Deeper Dive is a writing and editing course which will give you the opportunity to extend the work you've done on the Intro course. We'll look further at Structure and you'll be able to spend some focused time on developing your idea into a working draft. We'll continue to work on Character and Story, and also explore the importance of Genre, Theme and Tone to really build depth and nuance into your script. Sessions will be very active, with focused exercises and the opportunity to write, get feedback and rewrite - taking your idea to the next level.

Screenwriting Salons

Screenwriting Salons are designed to give writers a forum to share, discuss and develop their work. Through guided discussion, writing exercises and feedback, you’ll have a chance to move your idea forward – and have a dedicated time and place to write, once a month.

Whilst these sessions are ideal for anyone with a project already underway, everyone is welcome – whether you’ve only got the seed of an idea and want to see where it might go, or even if you’d just like the opportunity to spend some time with fellow writers. Come along and see where your ideas might take you!

Salons are usually on the first Saturday of the month, from 10.30-1.30.
